TURLOCK - CHP Officers responded to a vehicle that had run off road in the rural area of Turlock in what authorities believes to be a medical emergency that resulted in a fatality.

At 9:39 a.m. Friday, California Highway Patrol Officers responded to a vehicle that had run off a roadway. A red Toyota Prius was seen off the road eastbound on Linwood Avenue near Central Avenue.

“The parties didn’t think to call in until about 10 o’clock, when they realized there was somebody inside,” stated California Highway Patrol Spokesperson Eric Parsons.

Officers found a 60 year old Turlock male in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. They attempted to perform CPR, but the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

There was no visible damage to the vehicle, and the fatality appears to have resulted from a medical emergency.

“Possibly due to some kind of medical emergency, the vehicle drifted across the westbound lane and came to rest at the shoulder there across the berm,” stated Officer Parsons.
