STOCKTON - Police are investigating a hit and run collision that claimed the life of a bicyclist Friday night.
The crash happened at about 9:04pm near the 4400 block of the West Highway 99 Frontage Road. The victim, identified only as an adult male, was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a red tractor trailer hauling a flatbed.
The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police say the driver fled and was not located. He was described as a Middle-Eastern man between the ages of 25 and 32, standing about 5'9" and weighing about 220lbs. He was last seen wearing a dark blue shirt, a reflective vest and denim shorts.

MODESTO - Authorities arrested a 31 year old man after he fled from a crash that claimed the life of an eleven year old boy, authorities say.
The crash happened near the intersection of Hatch and Carpenter Roads shortly before 11:00pm Monday night. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 31 year old man who was identified as Traves Krause was driving north on Carpenter approaching the Hatch Road intersection. His vehicle entered the intersection and struck the left side of a Toyota sedan.
Authorities say Krause fled the scene and was later found injured at his home. He was transported to a hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the crash and then booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.
The 30 year old driver, a woman from Merced, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. A 30 year old male passenger and a nine year old girl suffered major injuries and were transported to a hospital. Another passenger, an 11 year old boy, was taken to a hospital where he died.
Authorities say driving under the influence was determined as a factor in the crash. Krause faces charges of murder, resisting arrest, DUI causing injury, and felony hit and run causing injury or death. He is being held without bail.
MERCED COUNTY - Emergency crews responded to a crash south of the City of Merced Wednesday morning that claimed three lives.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at about 7:29am on the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near East Mission Avenue. Early indications suggest that 911 callers reported a gold Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound on Highway 99 crossed over the median and collided with a black Ford SUV traveling north.
Two occupants of the pickup and an occupant of the SUV were killed in the crash. The two occupants of the pickup truck were identified as a man and woman in their 50's from Modesto. The occupant of the SUV was identified as a man in his 20's from Chowchilla.
Traffic was closed by officials until shortly before 11:00am.
STANISLAUS COUNTY - A crash east of Modesto claimed two lives Monday morning according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at about 7:28am near the intersection of Milnes and Albers Roads. Early reports indicate two white pickup trucks were involved in the crash. Two people were killed and both were trapped in the vehicle.
The roadway was closed off as emergency crews worked the scene.

PATTERSON - Authorities cited many drivers suspected of participating in a sideshow Sunday afternoon.
After sideshow activity summoned a response from many law enforcement officials in the Modesto and Keyes area Saturday night, authorities say the activity continued Sunday in Patterson.
According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office, a group from Sacramento came to Patterson for a sideshow. After being asked to leave town, authorities cited those who decided to remain.
In total, authorities issued 48 tickets, towed one vehicle and made one arrest.
STOCKTON - Authorities are investigating a collision that claimed the life of a 16 year old girl Saturday afternoon.
Police say that about 3:00pm the teen was on the railroad tracks in the area of Garfield and West Scotts Avenues when she was struck by an Amtrak passenger train.
Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the teen deceased at the scene. Police officers responded to take over the investigation.
One witness indicated on social media that the teen may have been attempting to rescue a dog on the tracks.

LODI - A 46 year old Manteca woman was killed in a traffic collision on Highway 99 early Friday morning.
The crash happened at about 5:23am near the Cherokee Lane exit in Lodi on the northbound lanes of Highway 99. For unknown reasons, the gray 2013 Toyota sedan left the highway and collided into a road sign and a tree before coming to a stop.
Emergency crews arrived to provide aid, but the woman was pronounced deceased in her vehicle. According to the California Highway Patrol, road conditions were wet and the weather was moderate rain.
Authorities are still trying to determine if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash, and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle prior to the crash to contact the Stockton area CHP office at (209) 938-4800.
