Big Rig/Vehicle Crash Blocks Northbound 99

KEYES - A crash involving a semi trailer and another vehicle blocked lanes of Northbound Highway 99 Monday morning.

The crash was reported at about 9:00am near the Keyes Road offramp. Early reports indicate a vehicle crashed completely under the trailer, but the occupant received only minor injuries.

All three lanes were blocked, with traffic diverting off the highway. Traffic was expected to be closed for a short amount of time.

Top Story: Livingston Bus Crash Kills Four

LIVINGSTON - An early morning bus crash shut down Highway 99 Tuesday, claiming the lives of four people and injuring several others.

The crash was reported at about 3:19am on the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near Livingston. A chartered passenger bus carrying passengers traveling on several stops between sothern California and Washington was involved in the collision with a traffic sign, slicing the vehicle down the middle to the rear axle.

Traffic was diverted around the crash on surface streets as rescue crews worked to carefully remove survivors. Injuries ranged from fatal to minor. Several air ambulances responded, landing on the highway to rush the wounded to hospitals for care.

The NTSB and CHP are both collaborating on the investigation into the incident. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still unclear.

Disabled Freight Train Blocks Turlock Roadways

TURLOCK - A disabled freight train blocked several roadways for at least an hour Friday morning.

The train stretched from Fulkerth to A Streets blocking downtown roads. Early indications suggest the train suffered a mechanical failure.

The train was cleared and roadways opened again shortly after 11:30am. The cause of the breakdown was still unclear at time of publication.

Bus Crash Shuts Down 99

MERCED COUNTY - An early morning bus crash shut down Highway 99 Tuesday.

The crash was reported at about 3:19am on the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near Livingston. Early reports indicate a passenger bus was involved in the collision causing major damage and multiple injuries.

Vehicle Crashes Down Cliffside Near La Grange

LA GRANGE - Emergency personnel responded to a report of a traffic collision Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported at about 1:30pm on Highway 132 about two miles west of J 59. Early reports indicate a vehicle ran off the roadway and crashed about 40 feet down a cliffside, landing upside down against a tree.

The occupants were able to exit the vehicle, at least one person reportedly suffered a neck injury.

Crash Reported on Carpenter Road

STANISLAUS COUNTY - Emergency crews responded to a vehicle collision on Carpenter Road Monday morning.

 
The crash was reported at Fulkerth Road at about 5:51am. Early indications suggest 2-3 vehicles were involved.
 
At time of publication, an air ambulance was requested to the scene but later cancelled and CPR was being performed on one person.
 
The crash was later listed as a fatality collision by CHP.

Pedestrian Killed in Collision with Vehicle

MODESTO - Police are seeking any witnesses in relation to a collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian Saturday night.

At about 8:45pm, emergency personnel responded to the area of Tully Road north of Standiford Avenue for a report of a person struck by a vehicle.

As officers arrived, they located a woman who had suffered fatal injuries.

Police say the woman was a 67 year old Modesto resident who was crossing the 3700 block of Tully Road. Authorities say the driver was a 37 year old Hollister man driving a Toyota Camry north on Tully Road. The events leading up to the collision are still under investigation.

Police say drug or alcohol impairment do not appear to be a factor in the collision. Police did not release the identity of the pedestrian pending notification of kin.

Investigators seek anyone who may have witnessed to collision and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
