CERES - Emergency crews responded to a report of a person struck by a vehicle late Sunday morning.
The collision was reported shortly before 11:45am near the intersection of Nadine Avenue and Herndon Road.
The patient suffered leg, chest and facial injuries, but they were considered non life-threatening. They were only identified as an adult male.
HUGHSON - An overturned big rig blocked Geer Road Friday afternoon.
The collision was reported at about 12:08pm near the intersection of Geer and Jantzen Roads. Early reports indicate the truck overturned and blocked both lanes of the roadway. The driver was able to get out of the truck.
Highway Patrol and Sheriff Deputies responded to divert traffic in the area.
There were no reported injuries in the crash.
SALIDA - Emergency crews responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a motorcycle Tuesday afternoon on Highway 99.
The crash was reported at about 3:49pm on the southbound lanes of Highway 99 just north of the Kiernan exit. Early reports indicated that a motorcycle had collided with another vehicle and resulted in a fire. Emergency responders located the occupants out of the vehicle on arrival and reported that two lanes of the highway were blocked.
There were minor injuries reported in the crash.
TURLOCK - CHP Officers responded to a vehicle that had run off road in the rural area of Turlock in what authorities believes to be a medical emergency that resulted in a fatality.
At 9:39 a.m. Friday, California Highway Patrol Officers responded to a vehicle that had run off a roadway. A red Toyota Prius was seen off the road eastbound on Linwood Avenue near Central Avenue.
“The parties didn’t think to call in until about 10 o’clock, when they realized there was somebody inside,” stated California Highway Patrol Spokesperson Eric Parsons.
Officers found a 60 year old Turlock male in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. They attempted to perform CPR, but the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
There was no visible damage to the vehicle, and the fatality appears to have resulted from a medical emergency.
“Possibly due to some kind of medical emergency, the vehicle drifted across the westbound lane and came to rest at the shoulder there across the berm,” stated Officer Parsons.
NEWMAN - A 65 year old Newman resident died from injuries sustained in a traffic collision while riding a bicycle Saturday.
Officers responded to the intersection of Balsam Drive and Sherman Parkway at about 6:16pm for a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist.
According to the Newman Police Department, a 17 year old girl was driving a white Honda westbound on Sherman Parkway before turning onto Balsam Drive. The bicyclist was riding eastbound on Sherman Parkway when the collision happened.
Police officers arrived and began providing medical care until paramedics arrived on scene, but the bicyclist was pronounced deceased. Authorities identified him as Michael Fresquez.

STANISLAUS COUNTY - Emergency crews responded to a report of a two vehicle collision Sunday evening.
