Fatal Crash Investigated on McHenry

MODESTO - A pedestrian was killed Wednesday morning after being struck by a car on McHenry Avenue.

The collision happened at around 5:45am just south of the Rumble Road intersection. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced deceased.
The involved vehicle appeared to be a dark Nissan sedan with visible front passenger side and windshield damage. The driver was at the scene speaking with authorities.
Police closed off southbound McHenry between Rumble Road and Woodrow Avenue for the investigation.

Stockton Crash Investigated

STOCKTON - Police closed a central area intersection Friday afternoon for a major injury crash investigation.

The crash happened after 2:00pm at the intersection of Madison and Acacia Streets, and involved a white Ford SUV and a black Kia SUV. The Ford collided with a palm tree at the intersection.

Officials say everyone was transported to the hospital.

No further information was available at time of publication.

Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Modesto

MODESTO - Emergency crews responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle Saturday evening.

The collision was reported to CHP at about 7:52pm near the intersection of Crows Landing and Olivero Roads.
Early reports indicate the pedestrian was down in the roadway blocking a lane. The involved vehicle remained at the scene according to authorities.

Motorcycle Crash Slows 99 Traffic

KEYES - A motorcycle collision slowed traffic down on Highway 99 Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported at about 2:53pm on the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near the Keyes Road on ramp.
The collision caused the motorcycle to catch fire. The rider appeared alert and conscious as he was loaded into an ambulance.
A CHP officer responded to investigate the crash.

Update: Woman Dies from Traffic Collision Injuries

TURLOCK - Police have identified a 65 year old woman as the victim who died from injuries after she was struck by a vehicle while in a wheelchair Thursday afternoon.

Jo Ann Simas was struck by a vehicle at East Olive and North Palm Avenues in Turlock. Early indications suggest she was pinned under the vehicle when the collision occured. Witnesses say after she was freed, emergency personnel administered compressions. She was transported by ambulance to a hospital in critical condition.

Police say the vehicle involved in the collision was driven by an 80 year old woman, also drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision. The driver was making a turn onto Olive Avenue from Palm when the collision occurred.

Person on Powered Wheelchair Injured in Turlock Crash

TURLOCK - Police closed off a downtown intersection Thursday afternoon to investigate a collision between a person on a powered wheelchair and a vehicle.

The crash happened at about 3:00pm near the intersection of North Palm and East Olive Avenues. Early indications suggest the collision happened in the intersection, and the vehicle came to a stop on top of the person on the wheelchair.
The condition, age and gender of the patient was not available at time of publication. A handbag, pink glasses and purple shoes could be seen on the roadway at the scene. The vehicle was lifted on jacks to allow access for emergency personnel.
The intersection was closed for several hours as the Turlock Police Traffic Unit investigated the collision.

Big Rig/Vehicle Crash Blocks Northbound 99

KEYES - A crash involving a semi trailer and another vehicle blocked lanes of Northbound Highway 99 Monday morning.

The crash was reported at about 9:00am near the Keyes Road offramp. Early reports indicate a vehicle crashed completely under the trailer, but the occupant received only minor injuries.

All three lanes were blocked, with traffic diverting off the highway. Traffic was expected to be closed for a short amount of time.
