In total, 8 guns were located. 6 rifles and two semi automatic handguns. Police received a report of two suspicious persons seen in the area of Birdwell and Davitt in Oakdale. Responding officers located a rifle wrapped in a sleeping bag. Police continued to search and confronted two persons near the 400 block of Church Avenue. Both suspects fled on foot in opposite directions. A perimeter was established in the neighborhood along with a command post and several allied agencies responded to assist. Modesto Police SWAT teams searched yard to yard.

Located and arrested were 18 year old Eric Silva of Riverbank and 19 year old James Fitzjarrel of Oakdale. The perimeter was broken down just before 10pm.
