Fatal Traffic Collision East of Modesto

STANISLAUS COUNTY - An early morning traffic collision east of Modesto claimed at least one life Sunday morning.

The crash was reported near Albers and Milnes Roads just before 4:30am. Early indications suggest a vehicle may have collided into a utility pole before coming to rest in a center merging lane.

Southbound traffic on Albers Road was shut down for the collision. County roads crews were called at about 6:30am to assist in a long term closure.

Emergency Crews Respond to Motorcycle Crash

MODESTO - Emergency crews responded to a motorcycle collision Saturday morning.

The crash was reported at about 11:00am near Stewart Road and McHenry Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a tan pickup truck was involved in the collision with the motorcycle.

Emergency crews arrived and provided care for one patient. Both vehicles were off the roadway.

At time of publication, extent of injuries was not available.

Two Killed in Sisk Road Crash

MODESTO - Two people lost their lives in a Monday afternoon collision on Sisk Road.

The collision was reported at about 2:30pm between Vintage and Pelandale. Four vehicles were involved in the crash. Two occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene. A child suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital out of the area.

Weather is a likely factor due to wet road collisions according to Sergeant Aaron Tait of the Modesto Police traffic division. Authorities were also investigating the possibility of speed in the crash.

Sisk Road was expected to be closed for several hours at time of publication.

Police Seek Vehicle in Pedestrian Hit and Run

STOCKTON - Police are asking for the public's help in locating the driver of a vehicle that struck and elderly man, leaving him in critical condition.

The collision happened Monday evening at about 7:30pm near the area of Airport Way and Fremont Street. Police arrived and located an 80 year old man down in the road with major injuries.

The man was transported to a hospital by ambulance where as of this publication was listed in critical condition. Witnesses who saw the vehicle describe it as a white four door car.

Traffic Collision on Geer Road Reported

HUGHSON - Emergency crews responded to a traffic collision on Geer Road Tuesday morning.

The crash was reported at the Fox Grove fishing access just after 9:30am. Early indications suggest there were two people in the involved vehicle, with one suffering a minor injury.

The vehicle reportedly collided with a tree. By 9:48am a tow truck had been requested to the scene.

Traffic Hazard on Highway 99

MODESTO - A pothole and chunks of concrete caused a significant road hazard on Highway 99 Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported just before 8:00am near the Tuolumne bridge on the southbound lanes of 99. Several vehicles with flat tires were pulled over, but soon after more vehicles reported damage from chunks of concrete.

A CHP officer responded to remove the debris and reported a large pot hole in the roadway. The officer reported a pothole measuring an estimated 3 feet by 5 feet and about 8 inches deep.

CalTrans crews were requested to the incident for repairs.

Traffic Collision Claims Pedestrian's Life

STOCKTON - A pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a vehicle late Saturday afternoon.

The collision was reported at about 6:30pm near the area of Hammer Lane and Lan Ark Drive. A man crossing into traffic was hit by a vehicle and transported by ambulance for his injuries. He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The motorist involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with investigating officers, according to police.

Crossover Crash on Highway 99

LIVINGSTON - At least two people suffered minor injuries in a cross over traffic collision on Highway 99 Sunday afternoon.

The crash was reported a few minutes after 5:00pm in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near the Hammatt Avenue onramp. Early reports indicated 4 vehicles were involved, with one vehicle crossing from the opposite direction. Two of the involved vehicles were described as a Ford Mustang and a Chevy Tahoe.

Two drivers were pinned in their vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol. Riggs Ambulance crews responded to provide care. Injuries were reported to be minor and the roadway was expected to open just after 5:30pm.

Vehicle Collision Damages Telephone Pole

STANISLAUS COUNTY - A vehicle collision caused one minor injury and damaged a telephone pole Sunday afternoon.

The collision happened near the area of Highway 132 at Weyer Road at about 3:18pm. Two vehicles were reportedly involved, but were not blocking the roadway. One telephone pole was reported damaged, but not posing any threat to the flow of traffic.

Emergency crews with Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to the scene. One person suffered a minor injury.
