Stockton Home Damaged by Fire

STOCKTON - Fire crews responded to a report of a two story home on fire Thursday evening.

The fire was dispatched at about 5:20pm on the 9700 block of Palazzo Drive near Riano Lane. Early reports indicated there was heavy smoke and flames visible from the home upon arrival.

Several fire crews responded to the scene to control the flames. Damage was visible to the home's second floor.

At time of publication, cause and damage estimate was not available.

STOCKTON - A power ball ticket matching five out of six numbers was reported sold at Parkwood Gas and Food on Hammer Lane.

The winning numbers, 32-16-19-57-34 and Powerball number 13, were selected Saturday night.

To win the record $949.8 million dollars, a ticket must match all six numbers. The first five can be in any order, but the power ball number must match. No ticket matching all numbers was reportedly sold.

The next drawing with an increased jackpot to $1.3 billion dollars is set for Wednesday night.

Stockton Police Investigate Homicide

STOCKTON - Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot dead in a vehicle early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the area of the 3000 block of Phelps Street for a report of a shooting at about 12:21am. When officers arrived they located a 38 year old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound in a vehicle. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene to take over the investigation, and authorities say they have no suspect information.

Police Seek Vehicle in Pedestrian Hit and Run

STOCKTON - Police are asking for the public's help in locating the driver of a vehicle that struck and elderly man, leaving him in critical condition.

The collision happened Monday evening at about 7:30pm near the area of Airport Way and Fremont Street. Police arrived and located an 80 year old man down in the road with major injuries.

The man was transported to a hospital by ambulance where as of this publication was listed in critical condition. Witnesses who saw the vehicle describe it as a white four door car.

Traffic Collision Claims Pedestrian's Life

STOCKTON - A pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a vehicle late Saturday afternoon.

The collision was reported at about 6:30pm near the area of Hammer Lane and Lan Ark Drive. A man crossing into traffic was hit by a vehicle and transported by ambulance for his injuries. He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The motorist involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with investigating officers, according to police.

STOCKTON - Police have identified a person of interest in a November homicide and are asking for the public's help in locating him.

Authorities say 29 year old Don White has been identified as a person of interest in the November 21st shooting death of Gilbert Wilbon. The shooting happened on the 1500 block of South Lincoln Street.

STOCKTON - A stolen vehicle suspect was arrested following a pursuit Wedensday night that ended when he rammed his vehicle head on into patrol cars.

The pursuit began just before 6:00pm in the area of West 5th Street where the suspect fled authorities. The driver lost control of the vehicle in the area of I-5 at the Charter Way onramp, where he rammed a San Joaquin County Deputy head on. A Stockton Police CHP task force unit was also involved in a collision with the suspect earlier in the pursuit.

The suspect, identified as Michael Mullins, was arrested and booked on charges including auto theft, assault on a peace officer, felony evading and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The involved officers are expected to be okay.

Traffic Closure on Highway 99

STOCKTON - Northbound lanes of Highway 99 are closing down after a vehicle collided into an overcrossing under construction Tuesday afternoon.

The collision happened at about 1:00pm at the Mariposa Road exit. Several beams were displaced by the impact.

Traffic is being routed onto French Camp Road toward I-5. A hard closure is expected to be in place for several hours.

Fatal Crash on Highway 99

STOCKTON - Authorities are investigating a crash that claimed the life of at least one person late Wednesday afternoon.

The crash was reported at about 4:12pm near Arch Road on the northbound lanes of Highway 99.

At least one big rig was involved, and an estimated 60 gallons of fuel was spilled.

A long term closure is expected to stay in effect through the evening. We'll have more details as they become available.

Six Year Old Girl Shot, Police Investigate

STOCKTON - Police are looking for a suspect after a shooting injured a six year old girl late Sunday night.

The incident was reported at about 11:10pm in the area of the 100 block of East Frist Street. The girl was a passenger in a Chevy Tahoe with her mother when an older white two door Saturn pulled up along side them and opened fire.

Several shots were fired, and the Tahoe was struck on the passenger side. The child was hit by one of the gunshots, and her mother transported her to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a thin Hispanic male in his 20's wearing a beanie.
