Manteca Man Arrested in Modesto Homicide

MODESTO - Police arrested a Manteca man in connection to a homicide that happened Tuesday night in downtown Modesto.

Dwain Bishop, 46, was taken into custody while walking near the intersection of McHenry and West Fairmont Avenues. Authorities say Bishop confessed and investigators have located additional evidence connecting him to the homicide.

Police responded Tuesday evening to a report of a person shot near the area of 15th and F Streets. Police located a victim in a crashed pickup truck in an alleyway. He was transported to a hospital where he died.

The victim was identified as 32 year old Derek Mauldin of Modesto. Authorities say two people were seen leaving the area on foot. The events leading up to the shooting and motive for the crime are still under investigation.

Stockton Police Investigate Homicide

STOCKTON - Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot dead in a vehicle early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the area of the 3000 block of Phelps Street for a report of a shooting at about 12:21am. When officers arrived they located a 38 year old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound in a vehicle. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene to take over the investigation, and authorities say they have no suspect information.

Arrest Made in Riverbank Homicide

RIVERBANK - Authorities investigating a late night shooting death have arrested a person they say is responsible in the case.

At about 11:43pm Tuesday night authorities responded to the 2600 block of Topeka Street for a report of a person shot. Deputies arrived and found a 31 year old man down in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives responded to investigate and process the scene and interview witnesses. During the course of the investigation, officials determined that a domestic altercation may have taken place, leading to the victim being shot.

Authorities placed 22 year old Guillermo Medina under arrest and charged him with murder. Medina was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.

Three Arrested in Homicide Case

CERES - Police announced the arrest of three men Tuesday afternoon in connection to a December 2014 homicide case.

On Tuesday morning, authorities including the Ceres Police SWAT team executed a search warrant on the 2000 block of Lunar Drive. Arrested at the home was 21 year old John Carlos Aguilera Jr. Authorities also identified two additional suspects, 22 year old Edgar Alvarez and 21 year old Richard Anthony Palomares. All were arrested in connection to the shooting death of Derrick Farrow, as well as criminal street gang charges.

On December 26th, 2014, 33 year old Derrick Farrow was shot to death in the parking lot of Runaround Sue's on Mitchell Road. Authorities believe the incident began as an altercation in the bar that escalated in the parking lot.

Earlier this year, two additional suspects were identified and arrested in the case. Richard Isaac Monroy and and Gabriel Enrique Gallardo, both 18, were arrested on homicide and criminal street gang charges.

Police say three additional suspects, 20 year old Luis Emeterio Martinez, 20 year old Eric Sanchez Padilla, and Jesus Prudente Ramirez, remain at large. Warrants have been issued for their arrest.

STOCKTON - Police have identified a person of interest in a November homicide and are asking for the public's help in locating him.

Authorities say 29 year old Don White has been identified as a person of interest in the November 21st shooting death of Gilbert Wilbon. The shooting happened on the 1500 block of South Lincoln Street.

Body Found in U-Haul in Salida

SALIDA - Authorities conducted a death investigation Sunday after the discovery of a body in the back of a U-Haul.

Sunday afternoon a deputy was called to investigate the report of a body in the vehicle on the 4700 block of Wallasey Way. After inspecting the cargo area, a body covered in a sheet was found.

Sergeant Anthony Bejaran, a Sheriff's Office spokesman says the body appears to be an African-American male, but his age could not be determined. A cause of death or further circumstances were not available.

Bejaran said detectives were expected to be at the scene well into the night, and that the incident is being treated as a homicide.

Shooting Kills Teen, Injures Man

STOCKTON - Police are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 15 year old boy, and injured a 19 year old man Thursday afternoon.

The shooting happened just after 1:00pm near the area of California and Park Streets where two victims were found. Both were transported to hospitals where the 15 year old died from his injuries.

The 19 year old was stabilized and admitted for emergency surgery.

Police say the suspect is described as being an African-American boy age 16-17, dressed in all black with a muscular build.

MODESTO - Police continue to investigate an early morning shooting that left a man dead and a second wounded.

Officers responded to the 2100 block of Sharon Way for a report of a shooting. They arrived and found a man down near the roadway, who was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. A second victim was located nearby who was transported to a hospital for care and was listed in serious condition.

Investigators are looking into the possibility of an SUV being involved in the incident. Officials say the incident does not appear to be a drive by shooting. Authorities believe the two victims approached the vehicle and began a conversation with the driver, who opened fire.

The deceased victim was identified as 29 year old Arturo Rodriguez. The second was identified only as a 22 year old man, both Modesto residents.

Fatal Stabbing Investigated in Stockton

STOCKTON - Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that took place early Sunday morning.

The incident was reported near the area of Oak and San Joaquin Streets at about 3:20am. Early indications suggest the stabbing victim attempted to rob the suspect's girlfriend.

The victim was confronted and stabbed by the boyfriend during an altercation. Medics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Authorities detained the boyfriend, who was still at the location. Detectives continue to investigate the incident.

Motorist in Car Crash Dies from Gunshot Wounds

STOCKTON - Authorities are investigating a homicide after a motorist who crashed into a tree was found suffering from gunshot wounds and later died.

Officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a vehicle that had collided into a tree Friday night. The crash was reported at about 9:20pm near the 800 block of First Street.

Officers found the victim, identified only as a 39 year old man, unconscious behind the wheel suffering from possible gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Doctors were able to confirm the man was shot.

Homicide detectives responded to investigate the incident. No suspect information was released, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation.
