Big Rig Collision Results in Fuel Spill

MODESTO -  A crash involving a big rig on highway 99 resulted in a fuel spill.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol were dispatched to the crash near the Tuolumne Boulevard exit on Southbound Highway 99 at about 10:52pm. The report indicated a semi truck had collided with the embankment.

The collision was blocking the Tuolumne ramp, and caused the truck to spill fuel which was spilling into a drain. CalTrans responded with sandbags to prevent more fuel from entering the drain.

Officials with the Department of Environmental Resources responded to the scene to evaluate the situation. By 12:30am, crews were still working the cleanup process. Information regarding injuries was not available at time of publication
