Suspect Identified In Stockton Murders

On March 17, 2013, at 8:10 pm, a shooting occurred in the 1800 block of E. Sonora Street in Stockton. The residents were having a gathering at the front of their residence when 3 to 4 Hispanic males walked towards the residence and began shooting into the crowd at the location. Five people were struck by gunfire. Two of those people died as a result of their injuries caused by the gunfire.

The suspects arrived in a white or cream colored vehicle. They were last seen fleeing the area northbound Locust Street from Sonora Street.

Homicide Detectives have developed information that Sergio Hernandez, a 20 year old male, 5’08” and 130 pounds, was involved in the homicide. Hernandez should be considered armed and dangerous. There is a no-bail arrest warrant for Hernandez charging him with homicide.

The Stockton Police Department is encouraging citizens to call if they have information pertaining to this investigation. Callers are asked to call the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377, the InvestigationsUnit at (209) 937-8323 – ask for Detective Chuck Harris and Detective Dave Reeder, or Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600. Callers can remain anonymous.
