GIANTS FREE AGENT CABRERA SIGNS WITH BLUE JAYS

Written by

Former Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera has agreed to sign a 2 year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays worth an estimated $16 million dollars.

Cabrera was having an amazing 2012 year until he was suspended for 50 games in August due to a failed drug test. He was named to the NL All-Star team and named MVP of the All-Star game. Cabrera was also leading the National League in hits and was second in Batting Average at the time of his suspension.

The Giants were able to fill Cabrera's  shoes with the mid-year signing of outfielder Hunter Pence.
