MORE: Police Seek Child Abducted by Father

MODESTO - The search for a missing child who was abducted by his father Monday morning continues.

The child’s father and several other’s identified themselves as utility workers as they knocked on the door to Kimberly Valente’s home during the 7:00am hour Monday, she said during an emotional interview.

The door to her home was forced open, breaking the frame.

“They pepper sprayed everyone inside,” one of Valente’s sisters said.

The mother took 6 year old Jayce Cosso to her vehicle where she attempted to escape, but another vehicle blocked her path. The passenger side window was smashed and Jayce was quickly snatched and pulled out.

Jayce was quickly rushed away in a vehicle as one of Valente’s relatives attempted to chase after the suspects. They were injured in a fall, suffering injuries consistent with road rash.

Police have identified John Cosso, 41, as a suspect in the abduction. He is the boy’s father.

Authorities are searching for a dark colored 2000’s model mid size vehicle. Anyone with information regarding the abduction is encouraged to contact the Modesto Police Department at (209) 552-2470 or Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636 where callers can remain anonymous.

Police, Family Seek Missing At-Risk Man

MANTECA - Authorities are searching for a Ceres man who went missing from the AMC theater and is at risk.

Luis Alfonso Ortega is 26, but relatives say he is severely autistic and has the mental capacity of a six year old. He left the AMC Theater on foot at about 9:30pm Sunday night. He was last seen walking east toward the Bass Pro Shop.

Ortega is six feet tall and was last seen wearing a red hat, black coat and black pants. Family says he likes video game stores, and may appear distraught or confused. He is afraid of people and may be unable to answer any questions.

Anyone who have seen him or who may have information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Manteca Police Department at (209) 239-8401.

Amber Alert Issued for Bay Area Infant

MOUNTAIN VIEW - Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for an infant allegedly abducted by her father Tuesday morning.

The child is identified as Madilyn Wallin, 4 months old. She was abducted from Mountain View by her father Michael Lenard Walling according to authorities. She is two feet tall, 15 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a white top and pink ballerina outfit.

Michael Lenard Wallin is 45 years old and has full body tattoos. He is 6'2'' and weighs 220 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a Golden State Warriors tee shirt. 

Authorities say they are traveling in a blue 2007 Nissan Altima 4-door vehicle with paper plates. The vehicle is said to have recent front and back end damage to the body.

Authorities urge anyone with information regarding this case to immediately call 911.

Missing At Risk Adult - Please Share

MODESTO - Police are asking for the public's help in locating an at-risk missing adult.

Gary Johnson was last seen near the intersection of Briggsmore and Sunrise Avenues Saturday afternoon at about 1:30pm. Police say Mr. Johnson is 74 years old and suffers from dementia.

He was last seen wearing a dark gray short sleeve shirt with red lettering, blue jeans and gray Nike shoes.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to immediately call (209) 552-2470.

Sonora Police Seek Missing Person

SONORA - Police are asking for the public's assistance in seeking a reported missing person.

Halley Brown, 30, was reported missing Saturday by a friend. 

She was last seen in the area of Ayba Street in Sonora and is described as being 5 feet two inches tall weighing about 105 pounds. She has blonde hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray button up shirt.

Police encourage anyone who may have information on her whereabouts to contact the Sonora Police Department at (209) 532-8141.

Father Needs Help Finding Teenage Son

MODESTO - A man is searching for his teenage son who recently ran away.

Zach Seager, 15, is 6'2 and weighs about 230 lbs. He has bright green eyes and bleached hair. He was said to be wearing a hooded black Dickies jean jacket and gray Dickies pants. 

According to his father, the last times he ran away he was located in West Modesto and Turlock.

Search for Missing Delhi Child Continues

DELHI - Authorities with the Merced County Sheriff’s Office searched for a missing toddler in Delhi well into Saturday night and into Sunday. 

 

The three year old boy, identified as Andres Tomas, was last seen by a relative at about 4:00pm Saturday afternoon at a home near Shanks Road.

 

Sheriff deputies, members of the dive team and search and rescue crews all worked to locate the boy with no success. Authorities concentrated their efforts on a canal that runs next to the home using sonar technology to search the waterway.

 

The boy was last seen wearing jeans, converse shoes and a red and blue shirt. Officials do not believe foul play to be a factor.
