Police Detective Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

RIVERBANK - A Police Detective was arrested on domestic violence charges over the weekend, officials say.

 

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department investigated a physical altercation involving a Modesto Police Detective and his estranged girlfriend in Riverbank. The incident took place Wednesday around 11pm, authorities said.

51 year old year old David Ramirez, a 22 year law enforcement veteran and current detective in the Property Crimes Unit was arrested for Domestic Violence. 

 

Ramirez was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail. 

 

The Modesto Police Department and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office have both initiated an investigation. Ramirez has since placed on administrative leave until the conclusion of their investigation. 

 

Police Chief Galen Carroll issued a statement saying “Anytime an officer is accused of alleged misconduct, we take those allegations seriously.”
