Several Displaced by Fire as Building Burns Twice

STOCKTON - Firefighters battled a blaze that burned a residential building twice Friday afternoon, displacing several occupants.

Shortly before 6pm, firefighters responded to the home near the intersection of Channel and Aurora for a report of a fire. Arriving crews were met with heavy fire from the rear of the home on the second floor and attic.

Fire crews battled the blaze and upgraded to a second alarm to bring more resources to the scene. In total, 13 occupants and at least one pet were displaced from their units.

Fire officials noted that a neighboring building that was damaged in a previous fire began to burn as well, but firefighters worked quickly to prevent it from spreading.

About three hours later, the building caught fire again. Responding firefighters made quick work of the second blaze. No cause or damage estimate was available, and no injuries were reported.
