STOCKTON - Authorities inspected, cited and towed multiple vehicles during an expected sideshow Saturday night.
Police received information of a possible sideshow expected to happen at the 10300 block of Trinity Parkway Saturday night. Authorities say the event drew an estimated 200 participants to the location.
Police officers and the California Highway Patrol Air Support Unit responded to prevent the sideshow from happening. Authorities say similar events have caused safety concerns in the past and conducted the mission to prevent this one from getting out of control.
Officers issued 15 warnings, 49 citations, made 11 equipment inspections and towed four vehicles. Police say they have a team of officers trained to identify modified vehicles, conduct vehicle inspections and write vehicle seizure warrants for vehicles involved in sideshows.
According to police, ten vehicles have been seized for involvement in sideshows and more seizure warrants are forthcoming.
