RIVERBANK - Detectives investigated a stabbing that sent one person to the hospital Thursday afternoon.
Shortly before 3:30pm, authorities were called out to Cobblestone Bakery located at Third and Stanislaus Streets for a report of a person stabbed. Deputies located the victim with a stab wound to the abdomen a short distance away. He was transported to the emergency room where he is expected to survive.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that the victim was outside the bakery when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect walked into the business and the victim followed where a brief argument occurred before the stabbing. The suspect fled.
A man who identified himself as the owner of the bakery said the victim was the manager of the business who was unloading items when he was assaulted.
Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect responsible for the stabbing. The only description available was a Hispanic adult male.
