Stockton Police Arrest Homicide Suspect

STOCKTON - Police arrested a man wanted in connection to a homicide, after authorities say he intentionally ran over a victim and killed him.

At about 3:30pm officers with the Stockton Police Department responded to the area of Hammer Lane and Don Avenue for a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

Officials say there was an apparent argument between the suspect and victim in the parking lot area of a shopping center. The suspect, identified as 34 year old Dontae Wilburn, then intentionally drove over the vicitm with his vehicle according to authorities. Wilburn then fled the scene.

The victim, who authorities say was a 45 year old man, died from his injuries at an area hospital. A 44 year old woman was also struck but suffered only minor injuries.

Officers later located Wilburn driving at a high rate of speed on Kelley Drive. He then collided into several parked vehicles near Charleston Court and fled on foot. Officers chased him down and deployed a taser to apprehend him. An ambulance was called for Wilburn to treat him for injuries.

Wilburn was later booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on homicide charges.

Crime Scene Near Homeless Shelter Investigated

STOCKTON - Police investigated a crime scene near a homeless shelter Sunday afternoon.

Early reports indicate a person was stabbed on South Harrison Street between West Sonora and West Church, outside a homeless shelter. Police responded to the report shortly after 4:30pm.

At least one person was transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries. Their condition at time of publication was unknown. There was no suspect information available.

Stockton Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

STOCKTON - Police Investigated the fatal shooting of a man in his 20's early Sunday morning.

Authorities say that at about 2:30am the victim was dropped off at an area hospital with gunshot wounds. He died a short time later from his injuries.

Investigators determined that the shooting actually happened in the area of Lafayette Street and Glacier Court. Authorities did not believe the shooting was random, but had no releasable suspect information.

The shooting happened shortly before 4:30pm near the 7500 block of Coral Lane. Arriving officers and medical personnel located the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Police Investigate Shooting that Injures Teen

Homicide Investigated in Weston Ranch

WESTON RANCH - Police investigated a homicide after a person was shot dead Saturday night.

Officers with the Stockton Police Department responded to the 3300 block of John Townsend Place at about 8:30pm for a report of a shooting. Arriving officers located a male believed to be in his 20's suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Medical personnel responded to the scene to provide care for the victim, however he was pronounced deceased. The victim appeared to have been shot in the middle of the road just off Carolyn Weston Boulevard. Investigators examined the scene and gathered evidence as rain began to fall.

Homicide detectives responded to take over the investigation. As of late Saturday night, authorities had no motive or suspect information.

One neighbor who was arriving home during the investigation described a shooting in the area the previous year, and was concerned about this recent incident.
