STOCKTON - Police arrested a man wanted in connection to a homicide, after authorities say he intentionally ran over a victim and killed him.

At about 3:30pm officers with the Stockton Police Department responded to the area of Hammer Lane and Don Avenue for a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

Officials say there was an apparent argument between the suspect and victim in the parking lot area of a shopping center. The suspect, identified as 34 year old Dontae Wilburn, then intentionally drove over the vicitm with his vehicle according to authorities. Wilburn then fled the scene.

The victim, who authorities say was a 45 year old man, died from his injuries at an area hospital. A 44 year old woman was also struck but suffered only minor injuries.

Officers later located Wilburn driving at a high rate of speed on Kelley Drive. He then collided into several parked vehicles near Charleston Court and fled on foot. Officers chased him down and deployed a taser to apprehend him. An ambulance was called for Wilburn to treat him for injuries.

Wilburn was later booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on homicide charges.
