HUGHSON - Authorities with the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office say a man exposed himself to a 12 year old girl Monday morning.

Shortly before 8:00am, deputies were called to Emile J. Ross Middle School for a report of an indecent exposure incident. Authorities say a 12 year old girl was walking to school when she noticed a gray four-door car following her.

As they arrived near the middle school the driver partially rolled down the passenger side window and asked for directions to Modesto. The girl replied that she didn't know and walked away.

The driver pulled up to the next curb and rolled the window all the way down as the girl walked by and pointed down. He was wearing only a blue shirt and exposed himself to the girl. She quickly walked away to the school and reported the incident. The vehicle fled at high speed east on Fox Road.

Authorities say this is the first known reported incident with this suspect and vehicle description. Authorities say the vehicle may be a gray Infiniti or Nissan with tinted windows, and the man is described as being medium complected in his late 20's with black hair and a beard.

Fight Leads to Shots Fired

STOCKTON - Police responded to a report of several shots fired Sunday afternoon at a park during a fight.

The incident happened shortly after 4:00pm at Laughlin Park near the 2700 block of Estate Drive. Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired with a large group of people involved.

Several people were leaving the park as police officers arrived. Several shell casings were found throughout the park, but no victims were located. During the investigation, officers found out that two groups of women arrived at the park to fight. The women were described as African-American in their 20's.

According to authorities, about 15 men were watching the fight and began firing guns into the air. Three of the women entered a vehicle and began leaving as one man fired a gun at them, striking their vehicle twice.

Police say the suspect vehicles are described as a 2014 Chevy Cruz, a red Ford Mustang and a silver Nissan Altima.

Stolen Car Pursuit Leads to Arrest

MODESTO - Police arrested the driver of a stolen car Monday morning after a brief pursuit.

The chase happened in the downtown Modesto area at about 9:15am after a police officer identified the black 1994 Honda Civic as stolen.

The vehicle fled from authorities as the officer initiated a traffic stop, leading to a brief pursuit. The officer discontinued the pursuit as it approached Sierra Street, but it was located stopped. Officers quickly surrounded the vehicle and detained the driver.

Early indications suggest at least one, possibly two women ran from the vehicle and made good on their escape.

Man Shot During Marijuana Buy

STOCKTON - A 19 year old man suffered a gun shot wound Saturday afternoon during a marijuana buy, police say.

The shooting happened at about 4:40pm on the 5200 block of Cosumnes Drive. Police say a 19 year old man entered the suspect's vehicle for a ride to a park to purchase marijuana. During the drive, the suspect pulled a handgun out and shot the victim. The victim was able to get out of the vehicle as the suspect and another 19 year old male passenger fled.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he is expected to survive.

The suspect was identified only as a Hispanic male about 18-19 years of age named Ari. The vehicle was a Silver 4 door Nissan Altima with the rear window possibly shot out.

Skimming Device Found in Bank ATM

RIPON - Police report the discovery of a skimming device in a bank ATM and are seeking information on persons of interest.

The device was found on March 19th at an ATM machine at the Bank of Stockton located at 234 West Main Street in Ripon. Police have surveillance images of four persons of interest, and are asking for the public's help in identifying them.

Police say the device was placed on the ATM on March 19th at about 7:30am by an adult man and woman. At about 5:40pm the same day a different pair of adults returned to remove the device.

Authorities and bank officials say so far no bank accounts have been compromised.

STOCKTON - Police are investigating a double homicide that took place early Thursday morning.

The incident happened shortly before 1:30am when police responded to a report of a stabbing victim near the 3300 block of East Anderson Street. Arriving officers found a 49 year old man who was suffering from stab wounds.

The victim told police that the stabbing happened near the 3300 block of East Main Street and there may have been additional victims. Officers responded to that area and located a 52 year old man and a 37 year old woman who were stabbed. Medics arrived and pronounced them deceased at the scene.

Police detectives responded to take over the investigation. Authorities have no suspect information and no motive. The 49 year old man was transported to the hospital in critical condition but was stabilized.

Police Arrest 2016 Homicide Suspect

MODESTO - Police arrested a man suspected of being involved in a 2016 homicide Tuesday afternoon.

The homicide happened on August 19th, 2016. At about 2:20am police received a report of gunfire heard in the area of Prescott and Rumble Roads, and moments later several reports of a collision on Prescott Road.

Emergency crews arrived and located a 1998 Honda Civic with what police describe as "catastrophic damage." Police say the vehicle was found to be stolen and looked to be struck by gunfire.

Mark Esparza, the 17 year old driver, was found ejected from the vehicle near the crash scene. First Responders attempted to save his life, however he died at the scene.

During Esparza's autopsy, investigators determined that he suffered a gunshot wound as well as injuries from the crash.

Search warrants were served by detectives in October on Alta Way in Modesto and last week on Jade Place in Manteca. No arrests were made at the time, however a warrant was issued for 33 year old Scott Bates Jr.

Officers saw Bates on McHenry Avenue Tuesday and placed him under arrest. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on charges including homicide, being a felon in possession of a firearm, committing a felony while out on bail, and other enhancements. He is being held without bail.

Tornado Warning Issued for Turlock

TURLOCK - Authorities with the national weather service issued a tornado warning for Turlock Tuesday afternoon.

The warning was in effect from 12:47 for 22 minutes. A National Weather Service Doppler radar registered severe thunderstorm activity capable of producing a tornado. The storm was located near Turlock and was projected to move northeast at 20mph.

The storm was also predicted to produce abundant hail.

Impacted areas in the warning were Turlock, Denair and Keyes. Further informaiton will be posted as details become available.

Fatal Crash Reported Near Los Banos

MERCED COUNTY - One person was killed in a traffic collision on Interstate 5 south of Los Banos Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported at about 2:42pm near Highway 165 on Southbound Interstate 5. Early reports indicate a pickup truck overturned, trapping the occupants.

A 70 year old man, a resident of Oregon, died in the collision. A 60 year old woman, also from Oregon, suffered major injuries in the collision and was transported to a Fresno hospital.

The man's identity was not released pending notification of family.

MERCED - Police arrested a Merced woman on a charge of homicide after allegedly striking a pedestrian with her vehicle and fleeing the scene during a fight.

At about 7:00pm Sunday, officers with the Merced Police Department received several calls of a large fight in progress in the area of 19th Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard. Responding officers received updates that a woman in a red car had just run someone over and struck several vehicles as she attempted to leave the scene.

As police officers arrived in the area, they witnessed a red vehicle near 19th and I Streets being driven by a woman. The vehicle had obvious visible signs of damage. Officers also found a woman down in the roadway requiring immediate medical attention, and several witnesses saying she had just been run over by the driver of the red car.

Police described the scene as very chaotic with a large gathering crowd. Witnesses identified the suspect driver as Ashley Sanders, a resident of Merced. The victim was transported to a hospital in Modesto where she died from her injuries.

Sanders was arrested by police without incident and booked into the Merced County Jail on homicide charges.

The name of the victim was not released by authorities, pending notification of family. She was only identified as a 20 woman who lived in the neighborhood.
