OAKLAND - A man wanted in connection to the murder of a Modesto woman was apprehended in the bay area late Thursday morning.
Kelvin Simpson, 51, was named as a suspect by police in the death of his wife, 47 year old Shannon Simpson. Shannon was found deceased in her home on Coffee Villa Drive Tuesday. Detectives initially investigated the case as a suspicious death, but it was later classified as a homicide.
Authorities in Oakland found the suspect sitting in a vehicle. They breached a window to the vehicle after Simpson did not respond to authorities commands and deployed pepper spray. He was taken into custody shortly after.
