PATTERSON - Two arrests were made by auto theft detectives after locating two vehicles that were reported stolen.
On February 23rd, authorities with the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force located a 1993 Honda Accord traveling on Walnut Avenue that was reported stolen out of Ceres. As investigators conducted surveillance on the vehicle, it pulled up to a 1996 Honda Accord on Saffron Way, which was also reported stolen from Ceres.
A man exited that car and entered the original vehicle, driving through a residential area before stopping on Hannah Drive. Authorities conducted an enforcement stop, detaining two people from the car.
Investigators were able to locate evidence in the vehicle connecting them to another car reported stolen in Patterson earlier that morning.
Eloisa Contreras, 27, was connected to two stolen vehicles. Saul Lopez, 25, was connected to six stolen vehicles in Ceres, Patterson and Newman. Both were arrested and booked, while the vehicles were returned to their owners.
