CERES - Authorities arrested a man wanted on several warrants totalling more than $100,000.
At about 10:33am on December 12th, two Ceres Police lieutenants observed two vehicles exit the freeway near El Camino Avenue and Fourth Street at high speeds, apparently chasing each other.
As the officials attempted a traffic stop, the lead car fled, while the pursuing vehicle yielded. The vehicle, described as a blue 2005 Chevy Malibu, stopped in the area of Third and Magnolia Street where the driver fled on foot.
Lieutenant James Yandell gave chase of the driver while Lieutenant Crane remained with the suspect vehicle. Yandell chased the suspect for two blocks and through several yards before apprehending him near Second Street and Whitmore Avenue.
Authorities say the suspect, identified as 28 year old Mario Mosqueda of Modesto, was being chased by bail bondsmen since the 400 block of Hatch Road. Mosqueda was determined to have multiple warrants totalling more than $100,000. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.
