MODESTO - A man was arrested after leading deputies on a slow speed pursuit through south Modesto that ended at a home.
The pursuit began at about 8:45pm Monday near the area of Crows Landing and Hatch Roads when a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations. The vehicle failed to stop and led the deputy on a pursuit, at one point nearly colliding with the patrol car.
The pursuit continued at speeds of 20-30 miles per hour before turning north onto Dallas Street from Hatch Road. The vehicle pulled into the driveway of a home on the 700 block of Crater Avenue where deputies attempted a felony traffic stop.
The occupant of the vehicle, described only as a Hispanic adult man, exited and entered the home and closed the garage door. Deputies called the man out several times, even deploying a beanbag gun. The driver was uncooperative and entered the home.
Additional deputies responded and the man was detained by about 9:15pm. Two ambulances were called to the scene.
Early indications suggest authorities dealt with the driver before in a similar incident in January.
