TURLOCK - Tuesday night at approximately 10:20 p.m., police responded to the scene of a reported vehicle collision to find a man claiming to have been hit by a vehicle.

Two police vehicles, an ambulance, fire engine, and a California Highway Patrol vehicle were on scene, and one male individual was seen on a stretcher.

However, police acknowledged that the situation wasn’t as it appeared.

"It came in as a vehicle accident, vehicle vs. a pedestrian, but when they got there, they had trouble finding anybody and eventually they found a pedestrian who claimed to be involved in a collision, but there was no evidence of him being involved in a collision,” stated Watch Commander Lieutenant James Silveira.

“It appeared that he was being delusional….”

The individual was sent to a hospital for psychological problems, according to Watch Commander Lt. Silveira.
