    Three Alarm Warehouse Fire in Modesto

  • EMPIRE - A convenience store clerk narrowly escaped serious injury after a gunman opened fire through the door of the business Wednesday night. At about 9:17pm, deputies with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office responded to a convenience store on the 200 block of South Santa Fe for a report of a shooting. Arriving deputies found the glass door to the business shattered from gunfire. According to Deputy Raj Singh, the employee at the business suffered a minor injury to the hand.   • MODESTO - Authorities investigated a crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian Tuesday night. At about 8:45pm, officers with the California Highway Patrol were dispatched to Spencer Avenue south of Maze Boulevard for a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. Early Sunday morning at about 2:00am, Lodi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Cherokee and Lodi Avenues for a report of two people shot.
