At 10:00 AM Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the Waterford Sub-Station responded to a stabbing in the 12000 Block of Pecan in Waterford, CA. When deputies arrived to the residence they found a victim with multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Through their investigation they learned that a 38 y/o male from Empire, CA and a second suspect, only known as Joel, arrived to the victim’s residence and pushed their way into the residence past a room mate of the victim.
The victim arrived home and found both suspects in his residence. The suspects attacked the victim and began to beat him. They ended up outside of the residence where the room mate tried to help the victim, but he was struck by one of the suspects. The victim was then stabbed multiple times and the suspects fled in a vehicle.
A short time later a deputy found the vehicle at a residence in Empire, CA and a perimeter was set up to locate both suspects. About an hour into the search a K9 Deputy found the 38 y/o male hiding in an open field a short distance form where the vehicle was found. Deputies were unable to find the second suspect.
The 38 y/o male was booked at the county jail for attempted murder and home invasion. He has not been identified by jail staff as of this press release for a positive identification. Joel was described as a white male adult approximately 6 feet tall and weighed approximately 200 pounds. He had dark short hair and a moustache. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
