Modesto Motorcyclist Killed In High Speed Collision


On Thursday evening at around 9:45 PM a motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Tully Road toward the intersection of West Union Ave. At the same time a sport utility type vehicle was driving southbound on Tully Ave and was making a left eastbound turn onto West Union Ave. The motorcycle and the vehicle collided in the intersection. The motorcyclist was thrown off of his motorcycle and eventually came to rest in the backyard of a residence in the immediate area.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital where he later passed away due to his injuries. He is identified as Aaron Carrillo, a 41 year old Modesto resident. The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries not requiring medical attention at the time.

The motorcycle being ridden was a 2005 Suzuki GSX-R. The sport utility vehicle being driver was a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The motorcyclist appears to have been wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the collision.

At this time, no fault or cause to this collision has been determined. This comprehensive collision investigation is in the early stages of the process. Witness statements and physical evidence will be thoroughly evaluated before any collision factor or cause will be determined.
